Sati, our mother/grandmother, grew up when spices were kept in a traditional steel box called masala peti. Every mother gifted her daughter one of these. We want to give you the opportunity to carry on this tradition.
Sati was born in 1935 in Ajmer, India. Getting married at 18, she quickly learned that her husband really enjoyed various cuisines. She knew “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”. In the 1960’s she also ran her own cooking class business from her home. Even at those times, she was a culinary trailblazer in her community. She moved to the US, in 1976, quickly setting up a very successful clothing business with her husband. She continued her love for cooking by always making delicious food on demand for her grandchildren. Sati, a woman with love for life, died of breast cancer at the age of 59.
She loved making Indian (her own countries’ food), Chinese (being India’s 2nd most popular cuisine) and Continental (the influence of British-India).

I recently purchased all three flavor assortments, and I've been having so much fun using these high-quality, flavorful, and diverse spices. I love Indian food and enjoy experimenting with different recipes. Satya's product offerings make trying new things easy and the end product enjoyable. The packaging is also beautiful. I would highly recommend these products.
I'm really glad I splurged and bought all three of the big tins with the spice collections. I've now tried every spice by making the recipes on the individual spice tins -- yum! -- and in addition, I get to enjoy the lovely colors of all the containers. Satya has a done a wonderful job of livening up food with their spices and creating beauty with the containers they come in.
